Learning about breastfeeding before your baby arrives helps set you up for success. During this 1 hour class, virtual or in person, I will provide you with education on how breastfeeding works, positions and latch technique, and anticipatory guidance on what to expect once your little one arrives.
Whether breastfeeding or bottle feeding, I am here to support your family in making feeding an enjoyable experience. Even with all the knowledge in the world, sometimes things don't go according to plan. If you are having any struggles, or just want confirmation that things are going well, this 1.5-2 hour visit will set you up with a plan to put your mind at ease when it comes to nourishing your baby.
Babies need a lot and say very little!
I am here for guidance on how to care for your newborn, ease anxieties created by all the normal "is this ok?" type of questions that arise, help you learn your little ones different cries, and nurture the whole new born family to confidence.
Since 2011 I have had the blessing of being able to make a career out of my passion for taking care of newborns and guiding their parents towards confidence in their new role. My professional roles as a NICU nurse and a postpartum doula have allowed me to provide care to the 24 week preemies all the way to 6 month old babies. Each stage that I have witnessed has been nothing short of a miracle and has helped me grasp just how wonderful and exciting all the milestones can be.
However, as a mom of 3, I also know how frustrating it can be when something that is "natural" doesn't come easily. When I had my first son in 2016, I quickly realized that breastfeeding wasn't quite as simple and automatic as I thought it would be. Despite my professional knowledge, I was still a first time mom. And I was struggling! I didn't know who to turn to, none of my other friends seemed to have toe curling pain when they breastfed, I was cracked and bleeding, sleep deprived, feeling like I was letting my baby down, and was discouraged in thinking that this was all my fault. When Brice was 6 weeks old, we were, quite literally, saved by a Lactation Consultant who empathetically listened to my pain, concerns, and goals. After her discovery of a severe lip and posterior tongue tie, our breastfeeding relationship was preserved through the ties being released by a pediatric dentist, body work and continued lactation guidance. We went on to successfully breastfeed for 18 months and I was better equipped to handle my other children having the same issue.
Becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant has allowed me to combine my passion for newborns and families, my professional knowledge as a Registered Nurse, and my personal experience with overcoming a rocky start. I feel honored to be welcomed into families' homes at such a vulnerable and intimate time of their life. As a welcomed member to your team, my role is to compassionately witness your experience, listen to all that you have to share with me, comprehensively assess you and baby, and to collaborate with you on an individual plan. I am not only here to care for the newborn baby, I am here for the entire New Born Family.

"Liz is kind, patient, passionate, and truly cares for her patients. We have been successfully breastfeeding for over 12 months and I attribute so much of that to Liz. I cannot recommend her services enough!"
"Liz was and continues to be a huge support to me, as a first time mom. She gave me several recommendations but more importantly, she knew exactly what to say to make me feel better about how hard being a mom is at the very beginning. Liz always gives me a well thought out answer that I can trust. I would 100% recommend her and can say that anyone she works with is very lucky."
"Liz couldn't have done anything better at any time. I felt 1000% confident my baby was in the best possible hands. Liz went the extra mile and helped us in every possible way."
